Description

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following report on France: the 1st SS Corps report relatively light casualties from Allied air raids as in many cases bombs fell on the evacuated or the Allied-occupied area, on August 9; with a query from the Prime Minister (PM) to the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS); and the latter's reply.
