A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Western Europe: a 116th Panzer Division situation report on the western Normandy front, for August 4; of the 9th SS Division withdrawing from the Front line, on August 4; that the 10th SS Panzer Division is preparing to abandon its main defence line, on August 4; that German Army authorities had blown up and abandoned their bases at St Brieuc by the morning of August 4; of withdrawals by the 276th and 277th Divisions during the night of August 3; of the 12th Panzer Division being relieved by the 272nd Infantry Division, on August 4; an 84th Army Corps situation report, for August 4; a 47th Panzer Corps report for August 4; that the 1st SS Panzer Corps orders greater awareness in view of expected Allied attacks, on August 1; and the Reich Airfleet reports on Allied attacks including an attack on the Leuna synthetic fuel works on July 28.
