A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Western Europe: a 13th Flak Division situation report, for August 1; a 276th Infantry Division situation report, for August 1; that the 2nd SS Panzer Division is to withdraw during the night of August 1; and a report on the front line in the sector south of Tilly, for July 31; on the Russian Front: a German Air Force (GAF) appreciation of Russian intentions, from July 31; and that materials and manpower are required for reconstruction, projection and building extensions in the Romanian oil area, on July 18; from the Japanese ambassador in Berlin, relaying the views of Steengracht on the German generals' plot, on July 21; that secret information from Germany should be restricted to the minimum number of persons, on July 25; on new German weapons, on July 26; and reports on the German generals' plot, from July 26; from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Berlin, a circular on the situation in Poland, as of July 26; from the Siamese minister in Berlin, describing the German situation and Allied propaganda, on July 27; from the Japanese ambassador in Vichy, regarding Laval's relations with Déat, on July 27; from the Japanese ambassador in Ankara, that Turkey is to break relations with Germany, on July 29; a Naval Headlines report; with a query from the Prime Minister (PM) and a reply from the First Sea Lord (1SL); and from the Japanese ambassador in Berne, giving Swiss views on the German situation, on July 25.
