A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on West Europe: of the 84th Army Corps being tied down completely by fighter bombers, on July 28; that the German Navy are to destroy Granville harbour immediately, on July 28; that the 10th SS Panzer Division expects an Allied attack, on July 28; the 1st SS Panzer Division's situation report, for July 28; and that the 272nd Infantry Division takes over from the 21st Panzer Division, on July 28; on South Europe: the 42nd Infantry Division reports guerilla raids and air attacks, on July 26; the German Air Force (GAF) 2nd Air Fleet reports heavy damage to the oil industry in Vado-Ligure, on July 27; that the Germans fail to recruit voluntary Italian assistants, on July 20; and that the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) for the Southwest seeks the subordination of an alpine school as troops must be trained in mountain warfare, on July 20; on Southwest Europe: that the C-in-C orders the reorganisation of a regiment of the Brandenburg Division for an air-landing operation, on July 19; and on Roumania: that the GAF seeks authority to reorganise fighter units, on July 23.
