Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on West Europe: that the 9th SS Division re-establish the old front line, on July 26; that the 2nd SS Panzer Division used up all its 88mm flak ammunition, on July 25; a 47th Panzer Corps report, for July 26; and on the strength of the 2nd Parachute Division, as at July 22; on Germany: of shipping being hit in an Allied raid on Kiel, on July 24; and a German Air Force (GAF) report on raids on Germany, on July 25; on South Europe: that Himmler calls for a report about Czech troops in Italy, on July 16; and that Himmler instructs the SS to remove all works of art from Florence, on July 22; Naval Headlines; from the French ambassador in Tokyo, to Laval, noting alarm and pessimism in Japan, on July 20; and on the Japanese naval and air situation, as of July 23; from the Siamese minister in Berlin, on the failure of German propaganda, on July 13; from the Turkish military attaché in Berlin, on the generals' plot, on July 22; from the Portuguese ambassador in Washington, regarding a visa being given to an emissary from Roosevelt, on July 26; and from the Spanish ambassador in Washington, on the U.S. seeking an air base in the Azores, on July 20.
