Description
A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on West Europe: that the 9th SS Division counter-attacks against an Allied breakthrough, on July 25; that the Ground Officer Commanding (GOC) the 2nd SS Panzer Division was wounded, on July 25; that the Panzer Lehr Division is coming under heavy bombing, on July 25; and of bomb damage to a German Air Force (GAF) airfield, on July 21; on Germany: of Allied air raids, on July 18-19; and of bomb damage to the GAF signals school at Detmold, on July 23; and on the Southern Russian Front: of the Soviets thinning out their forces to form reserves, on July 22.
