Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on West Europe: that General Lieutenant Pickert, commanding the 3rd Flak Corps in Normandy, is to report to Hitler at Angerburg, in East Prussia, on July 26; on indications of a move of the 2nd Panzer Division from the Caumont sector to south of Caen, on July 23; and that the 2nd SS Panzer Division take 250 prisoners, on July 23; on South Europe: that German Air Force (GAF) reconnaissance shows a build-up in the Naples-Salerno area for an Allied landing operation, on July 23; on Germany: of GAF fuel economy measures, on July 11; and the Ground Officer Commanding (GOC) the Parachute Army rejects a suggestion that the fighting power of paratroops is falling, on July 21.
