Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on South Europe: that the 76th Corps holds its defence line with considerable casualties, on July 7; a 14th Panzer Corps report, for July 6; and more details of air raid damage caused at Toulon, on July 6; on South-east Europe: on the proposed allocation of 15 2-man submarines to the Adriatic and the Aegean, with their operational possibilities dependent on the fighting spirit of their Italian crews, on July 5; and that Hitler orders the reinforcement of Crete, on June 15; from the Saudi Arabian minister in London, that flying bombs make London unbearable to live there, on July 5; the Japanese Foreign Minister queries the source of the consul-general in Vienna's information on German fighter aircraft production and is reassured as to the reliability of the sources (with a comment to the Prime Minister [PM] by C); from the French delegate in Stockholm to DiploFrance in Algiers, describing German pessimism, on July 5; from the French delegate in Ankara to DiploFrance in Algiers, that Turkey informs the Allies that she is ready to sever relations with Germany, but that she has not the means to protect herself, on July 5; and from the Spanish ambassador in London, on Soviet advances, the fall of Siena, and 300 flying bombs falling a day, on July 4.
