This file includes the following reports on West Europe: that the Germans expect an Allied attack in the Caen area, on July 7; situation reports for the Caen area, for July 7; of the 12th SS Panzer Division's tank serviceability, as at July 7; that the 17th SS Panzer Grenadier Division is facing Allied penetrations south southwest of Carentan, on July 7; that the 84th Army Corps' intentions are to deal with an enemy break through, on July 7; of the Panzer Lehr Division transferring to west of St Lo, on July 7; and that an Allied raid on Dijon causes severe railway damage, on the night of July 5-6; on South Europe: of German casualties in a raid on Montpellier on July 5; and Italian Front battle reports, for July 7, stating that the 14th Panzer Corps suffers extraordinarily high casualties; on South-east Europe: of naval damage caused in a Trieste raid of July 6; and that guerilla leaders in northern Yugoslavia reportedly declare a cessation of hostile actions to provide a basis for negotiations, on July 5.
