A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: an 84th Corps situation report, for July 3, detailing an enemy attack on a broad front, and criticising the Russians; the 84th Corps reports that Allied attacks have broken the defence line on the Cotentin Peninsula, on July 3; that an enemy attack is expected east of the River Orne; the 12th SS Panzer Division reports the British are bringing up strong armoured forces southwest of Caen and expects a new attack, on July 3; and of a request to dissolve a flare-dropping unit at St Martin, which has no more crews, on July 1; on South-east Europe: that German Air Force (GAF) Command for the Southeast forbids the use of cars, with horse, donkey and oxen drawn carts to be used, from June 29; and a Secret Intelligence Service (SIS) report on German morale, as of July 1, a part of which was retained by the Prime Minister (PM) (so it is not included).
