This file contains a message from C to the Prime Minister (PM); and the following reports on France: that the Ground Officer Commanding (GOC) the 7th Army, General Dollmann, died of a heart attack in the night on June 27-28; in general: that jumping and dropping equipment is needed for two divisions and stocks of this equipment are in depots at Gardelegen, Seifhennersdorf, Laon, Bielitz and Rokitzan, on June 29; on Italy: of the arrest of civilian male local inhabitants in the age group 18 to 45 in the area between the main defence line and the general line from Cecina-Siena-Citta di Castello-Ancona, and that they are to be transported to Florence under military escort, while civilians arrested in the course of anti-guerrilla operations are to be sent to Germany, on June 22; a propaganda directive renaming the flying bomb VI, on June 29; Naval Headlines, covering that Admiral Doenitz commended the defenders of Cherbourg for their courageous defence; that the German heavy cruiser Luetzow is to operate in the eastern Baltic; that a Coastal Battle Group is to be formed in the Genoa and Spezia areas with the surviving officers and crews from recently sunk torpedo boats; that the Japanese are attempting to fly aircraft into bases in the Marianas; and detailing orders for Japanese submarines operating from Truk.
