Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Italy: that 1,600 Allied tanks are assumed to be in the area from the west coast to Camerino, with a large attack expected; that guerrilla activity is increasing daily on both sides of the road from Reggio-Spezia, with the roads ruined in places by mines; and on preparations for the destruction of Genoa harbour, on June 22; and on Bulgaria: that the Soviet Union is reported to be pressing for the re-opening of consulates in Bulgaria, and detailing Hitler's orders for an investigation into ways of the Bulgarians evading Soviet pressure, on June 21.
