Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Western Europe: that the 2nd Panzer Division in the Caumont area receives tracked vehicles to bring it once again up to strength, on June 19; that the Jobourg Peninsula is to be included in the Cherbourg fortress area, from June 20; that Hitler demands to know which elements of the 243rd and 77th Infantry Divisions and the 91st Air Landing Division were in the Cherbourg fortress; the reply to Hitler's question stated that no details were available as the units in the fortress were all mixed up, on June 20; that the fortress at Cherbourg is to receive a large-scale German Air Force (GAF) paradrop of supplies overnight on June 20/21; and that the GAF are to carry out photographic reconnaissance of London overnight on June 20/21.
