Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on South Europe: that the Commandant on Elba considered the situation hopeful, with the enemy forces only at Marina di Campo, on June 17; of enemy landings on Elba, with the situation most hopeful, on June 17; and a 15th Panzer Grenadier Division report, for June 16, stating the division is to retreat to a new line at night; Naval Headlines; from the Japanese Ministry of the Interior representative in Berlin, that German morale is not affected by the second front, as of June 13; from the Japanese ambassador in Vichy, passing on a German assessment of the Allied landings, on June 14; from the Turkish minister in Sofia, that Bulgaria is under pressure from the Soviets, on June 12; and on Spain: of the reaction to the Allied landing, on June 16; report no. 193 is not included.
