Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on West Europe: that the battle for Cotentin requires each individual to fight to the last, on June 12; that in the German Air Force (GAF) Air Fleet 3 fighter groups are to be re-equipped back to fighters to attack at the central point of the fighting, on June 12; that the 12th SS Panzer Division, in the Caen area, are to hold their line, on June 12; and on the 21st Panzer Division's front line, as at June 12; on South Europe: of Kesselring's planned distribution of the 10th and 14th Armies on the new defensive line, the Outrage position, on June 4; on planned Allied invasion areas, according to the Japanese ambassador in Madrid, on June 11; that Benedetto harbour was destroyed by the Germans, on June 12; Naval Headlines, covering the demolition at Cherbourg; and from the Portuguese chargé in Berlin, describing the reaction of the Germans to news of the Allied landings, on June 7.
