This file includes the following reports on France: of the 352nd Division withdrawing behind the Elle sector, on June 10; that three companies of the 17th SS Panzer Division are to move to the Juvigny area, on June 12; a situation report for June 10, covering that the 1st SS Panzer Corps warded off an Allied tank attack south east of Audrieu, the 250th Infantry Division is holding the sector from Elle-Vire, the Allies crossed the Vire near Isigny, and Allied air raids on Nantes, Jersey, Le Mans, Rennes, and Laval; and of an indication of a connection between the 47th Panzer Corps and the 7th Army, on June 9; from the Japanese naval attaché in Berlin, an appreciation of the air war in Europe, on May 6; and a report of a shortage of aviation fuel as a result of Allied action, noting restrictions in allocations, that it is necessary to break into strategic reserves, and extreme economy measures are to be observed, from June 6.
