This file contains a message from C to the Prime Minister (PM); and the following reports on France: that the 709th and 91st Infantry Divisions are under pressure from Allied tanks on the main road in the direction of Monteburg, and call for air support, on June 9; a Group West Review for late on June 9, detailing the Allied bridgehead between Orne and Grandcamp being extended, German armoured forces attacking south east Bayeux, strong airborne landings in the Vire estuary, and that the Allies are occupying Isigny; of indications the 9th Panzer Division is preparing to move, possibly to the Le Mans area, on June 8; the 3rd Air Fleet reports the Allies are developing a landing stage west of the Orne area, and is expecting glider landings in strength, on June 9; a situation report for June 9, covering an English landing in the area of Bernieres, and that Canadians are to the west of the Vire estuary; on the 3rd Air Fleet's measures for economy in fuel consumption, on June 10; and that U-boat flotillas at Brest were informed that crews on home leave will not be recalled prematurely, on June 8.
