A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Italy: on the battle HQs and Divisional boundaries of the 76th Panzer Corps, as at June 8; that the Commander in Chief (CinC) for the South West is required to give a return on the quantities of anti-tank and anti-personnel mines needed for the Apennine position, taking account of Hitler's demand for large-scale mining, with monthly requirements for the 14th and 10th Armies to be submitted separately, on June 7; of an Allied landing north of Tarquinia, with German troops withdrawing to the line DORA/OUTRAGE, on June 8; Kesselring's report of losses suffered by the 10th and 14th Armies during recent defensive fighting, on June 5; and that the Brandenburg Division in the Istrian area was seriously weakened, on June 3; on Ukraine: the 4th Air Fleet reports the German Air Force (GAF) and Royal Romanian Air Force are supporting defensive fighting north west of Jassy, and that aircraft of the 8th Air Corps supported 48th Panzer Corps elements engaging Soviet positions in front of the 42nd Army Corps, on June 7; on Croatia: a CinC for the South East report for June 4, noting the GAF were forced to withdraw all their combatant forces from Croatia as a result of heavy Allied air activity in the 2nd Panzer Army's sphere of command; and that the non-cooperative attitude of the population is hardening, with the refusal of workmen and servicing personnel to continue working.
