Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file contains a message from C to the Prime Minister (PM); and the following reports on Western Europe: a report from the Sea Defence Commandant for Normandy, for June 8, stating that a German land attack was brought to a standstill on the line from St Mere Eglise-East of Montebourg-Reville with its southern edge at Azeville-Marcouf; that a German Air Force (GAF) fighter unit formerly in north Germany was addressed in Evreux, on June 6; that shipping was evacuated from Granville to Jersey by the evening of June 7; of the Admiral for the Atlantic warning Brittany of an Allied shipping concentration in the Jersey area late on June 7; and that preparations for the demolition of Granville harbour have started.
