This file includes the following reports on West Europe: the Sea Defence Commandant for Normandy's report, on June 7; that the German Air Force (GAF) are to attack tank concentrations in the Caen general area, on June 7; that an attack by the 21st Panzer Division fails, and Allied tanks open a gap in the front line north of Caen, on June 6; of an Allied penetration in the Caen area being reinforced by air landings, on June 7; that the Germans believe Bayeux is surrounded, on June 7; the German Navy at Granville report bombing destruction in the general area, on June 7; that the 275th Infantry Division is at the highest degree of readiness, as of June 7; of the 3rd Air Fleet's reconnaissance of the landing areas, on June 7; of orders for GAF reconnaissance for the night of June 7-8; and that 2 truckloads of rocket bombs were held up by a bombing attack on a railway, on June 7.
