This file includes the following reports on West Europe: that the Germans in the Laval area and probably at Le Havre and Cherbourg have run out of 8.8 and 10.5 cm high explosive shells, on June 6; of continuous glider landings on the east coast of the Cherbourg peninsula; on the orders for June 7 to a flak unit encircled at Caen; that the electricity works at Caen has been destroyed by bombs, on June 6; that the Germans envisage the evacuation of an airfield west of Caen, on June 6; a Group West situation report, at 1600 on June 6; that a fighter unit has been subordinated and requests orders, on June 6; of German Air Force (GAF) unit moves, on June 6; of further GAF moves, on June 6; that one day fighter groups are to be brought up on June 6 to each of seven airfields, believed to be in Belgium-North France; that 5 more airfields, believed to be in central France, are to receive one day fighter groups, on June 6; and that the Oslo naval authorities order heightened vigilance against landings, on June 6.
