Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on West Europe: that the British are across the Caen Canal, on June 6; of German Air Force (GAF) orders for reconnaissance of the Allied landings, on June 6; that Isigny is in German hands; and of an Allied penetration at Arromanches, on June 6; on South Europe: the German liaison officer with the Italian General Staff reports a gathering of guerillas in Tuscany and requests weapons, on June 3; Naval Headlines, covering the invasion of France; the Mediterranean and Black Sea section of this report was sent to General Ismay under 6711 (not included in this series); from the Japanese ambassador in Berlin, recording a conversation with Ribbentrop, and that the Germans are displeased with Spain, on May 29; and that Hitler expects good results in a new period of submarine warfare, on May 29; and from the Turkish chargé in Madrid, describing the Spanish reception of speeches by Churchill and Hoare, on June 4 (not on the coversheet).
