A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on France: that the 319th Infantry Division imposes a 2nd degree of readiness along the coast from Caen to Mont St Michel, on June 6; the Sea Defence in Normandy report some parachutists as straw dummies, on June 6; that some parachutists were captured, and parachute landings continue, on June 6; of an airborne landing on the Cherbourg Peninsula, on June 6; that the Sea Defence Commandant for Pas de Calais, Normandy, and Seine Somme is to send back all dispensable motor transport, on June 6; of parachute descents in the area of St Mere Eglise, late on June 5; and the Sea Defence Commandant for Normandy reports a failure of radar apparatus.
