A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following report on Southern Europe: the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) for the South-west's assessment of comparative Allied and German unit and weapon strengths on the south Italian Front as at May 12 when the Allies launched their major offensive - the figures indicate that the Germans were outnumbered by at least 4 to 1; and a table with the strengths was sent to the Prime Minister (PM).
