A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: of the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) for the South-west's battle plans for May 28 including the area of the boundaries between the 10th and 14th Armies; and on the results of Allied air attacks against Fabriano, Ancona and bridges at Cesano, on May 29, stating that the bridges are expected to be out of action for 4 days; of orders from Berlin, noting the production of giant pneumatic tyres in Germany is seriously impaired, so monthly allocations are now being cut, with restrictions to be imposed on the use of vehicles with such tyres, from May 30; and that prisoners of war are to be employed more productively in future, otherwise ruthless action will be taken, from May 29.
