Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: of the 356th Infantry Division moving down to the main Italian Front from the Genoa area, on May 30; that German High Command orders 130 tons of gas ammunition stored in Rome to be destroyed, so the German Naval Command in Italy orders the gas to be loaded at the port of Civita Vecchia on June 1-2 and sunk at sea at least 6 miles from the coast and at a depth of at least 20 metres; that a German Air Force (GAF) night-fighter unit is to deploy to northern Italy for the new moon period to defend the supply routes to the front in central Italy, on May 30, and that the unit will operate from Ghedi with the additional use of the forward deployment airfield at Perugia.
