This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: of the planned withdrawal of the 26th Panzer Division overnight on May 29/30; that the 1st Parachute Division is to withdraw overnight on May 29/30; that the 5th Mountain Division was withdrawn to some 6 miles behind the River Melfa by the evening of May 29; of planned movements for the 44th Division and the 1st Parachute Division, with the 5th Mountain Division to hold the Melfa line, on May 27; of an urgent request for anti-aircraft artillery to defend a key bridge near Subiaco as all German divisions of an unspecified Panzer Corps would have to cross it, on May 28; a summary of German movements and damaged communications lines in Italy as at May 27; that the 16th SS Panzer Grenadier Division, previously a reserve of German High Command and based in Hungary, is now en route to an unspecified destination, probably in Italy; of the results of an Allied air attack on Genoa harbour, on May 28; and on the results of an Allied air attack against Banjaluka airfield in Yugoslavia, on May 28; on Western Europe: on the results of heavy Allied air raids on targets in Belgium and France, on May 24/25; that the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) West protests against a cut in his allocated fuel quota which will seriously affect his summer construction programme and also hit the most important supply lines, on May 27; on the results of an Allied air raid on an airfield at Brandis in Germany, on May 28; and T199/121 was sent to General Ismay under 6639.
