A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: that the 26th, 29th and 90th Panzer Divisions all fall back during the night of May 25/26; that the Allies continue to advance and the 15th Panzer Grenadier Division prepares to fall back in the event of continued Allied pressure, on May 25; on the main defence line of the 1st Parachute Division as at May 25; that the 15th Panzer Grenadier Division is to withdraw during the night of May 25/26; that the 90th Panzer Grenadier Division falls back in the face of a strong Allied advance on May 25 and is decimated as the Allies cross the Melfa in 2 places; a German Air Force (GAF) assessment of the German retreat on the Italian Front, marking little air support, and there being only some 200 GAF sorties in the face of some 2,000 by the Allies; and Naval Headlines 1057.
