Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: Mr Loxley's summary on Western Europe: a manning return for the 3rd and 5th Parachute Divisions and of the 2nd Parachute Corps, all based in France; a similar return for the 17th SS Panzer Grenadier Division indicating that most of its troops were still in the first 6 months of training; and a report from Fieldmarshal Runstedt (Commander in Chief [C-in-C] West), detailing German internal operations in France, moves and locations of units, operations against resistance groups, and the results of Allied air raids against targets in France; and on Southern Europe: that German naval authorities in the Aegean warn of Allied heavy rocket bombs with a new type of explosive which will be used against coastal fortifications to support invasion operations.
