A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Italy: a report from the 51st Mountain Corps for May 16, describing heavy Allied tank attacks in front of the Cassino Plain with artillery and air support; of heavy fighting along the front of the 90th Panzer Grenadier Division, with its right wing being over-run by tanks; of an Allied tank spearhead in San Ermete; and that Moroccan troops crossed the Liri, on May 17; and of movements involving elements of the 3rd Panzer Grenadier Division for reconnaissance purposes to clarify the position at Fondi, on May 18.
