Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Western Europe and Germany: an appreciation by the German Air Force (GAF) that the main effort of Allied Air activity confirmed the view of the 3rd Air Fleet that an Allied landing is planned in the area of Le Havre - Cherbourg, on May 7 and 8, with a comment by the Chief of the Imperial General Staff (CIGS); and a situation report by the 2nd Air Fleet on May 12; that home detachments of the 1st Parachute Army are to be dissolved immediately under the economy scheme, on May 12; from the Japanese ambassador in Berlin, giving the views of Admiral Doenitz on the Western and Eastern fronts, on May 10; from the Portuguese Legation in Berlin, describing a Berlin air raid, on May 8; and from the Turkish ambassador in Vichy, noting the decision of Petain to move to Rambouillet, on May 5.
