This file includes the following reports on West Europe: a report from the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) West on the West Coast Front and moves of formations and units, on May 4; on South and South-east Europe: that the German Air Force (GAF) in Albania are to reconnoitre Bari and Taranto harbours, on May 7; Naval Headlines, covering the Germans claiming atrocities were committed on Amorgos by British commandos; from the Japanese ambassador in Vichy, that Petain and French ministers are to move to the Paris area because of German fears of Allied landings, on May 5; from the Japanese naval attaché in Berlin, describing a tour of German military defences in northern France, from April 20-24; from the Japanese representative of the Ministry of the Interior in Berlin, an assessment of the percentage of air raid damage caused to German cities, as of April 18; and an assessment by the Assistant Chief of Air Staff Intelligence (ACASI), on May 7.
