Description

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on West Europe: that Keitel requests the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) West and military commanders to assist in making good the damage to railways caused by Allied air attacks, on May 1; T176/117, sent to the Prime Minister (PM) under 6454; Naval Headlines; a GUNPOWDER report: from the German ambassador in Italy, on Il Duce's requirements at the meeting he wishes to have with Hitler, on April 1; from the German Embassy in Tokyo, on Japanese occupied territories, from March 1; and that diplomatic missions evacuate Tokyo because of air raids, on March 20.
