Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on South Europe: the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) for the Southwest lists the assault units of the divisions in his area, on April 26; and the C-in-C Southwest proposes to release Italian military internees in exchange for the handing over of Allied soldiers in rear areas, on April 29; on West Europe: of weaknesses in the defence of the 1st Army, at Bordeaux, on April 19; on South-east Europe: that the Germans are to deliver 130 new railway trucks to Turkey in the first half of May, reported on April 18; Naval Headlines; and from the Portuguese chargé in Roumania, reporting a mixed reaction to Roumanian armistice discussions with the Allies, on April 28.
