This file includes the following reports on Germany: that the German Air Force (GAF) no longer require volunteers for the defence of the Reich from ground attack units, on April 21; on the Southern Russian Front: of the battle strengths and armaments of the German and Roumanian divisions in Crimea, on April 7 and 15; that the Roumanians are a liability and consideration is being given to their evacuation without weapons, with a call for German reinforcements by air; T163/18, T162/64, 88, 104 and 105 are not included; T163/24 and ZIP/Mel; 1932 was sent to the Assistant Chief of Air Staff Intelligence (ACASI) under 6345; on East Europe: the German secret service in Bucharest report Allied air raids on Bucharest and Ploesti, on April 4-5; and report the bombing of Severin on April 15; Naval Headlines, covering Allied landings on islands in the Adriatic; and that the Japanese are entering a most critical stage in their implementation of shipping; from the Yugoslav Embassy in London to their ambassador in Washington, of King Peter fearing that Churchill has agreed with the Soviets on the recognition of Tito, that he seeks support from Roosevelt, and advice from the Yugoslav ambassador in Washington, on April 15 and 17; from the Turkish ambassador in Moscow, that the Soviets are mopping up the 2nd Ukrainian Front and will be able to use fifty divisions elsewhere, on April 19; from the Portuguese minister in Tokyo, that the Japanese are basing their hopes on divergences between the Soviet Union and the U.K.-U.S., on April 19; on South Europe: the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) for the Southwest gives an evaluation of the fighting value of his subordinate divisions, on April 14; and a brief for the Prime Minister (PM) by the Chief of the Imperial General Staff (CIGS) is not included.
