This file includes the following reports on West and South Europe: the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) West's appreciation of Allied invasion intentions and of German preparations for defence, on March 21; on South Europe: the naval harbour master at Benedetto reports a continuous air attack, on April 4; and of evidence for the diversion of Panther tanks from the 1st Panzer Regiment and the 26th Panzer Division, to the Russian Front, on March 19; on Germany: of Allied raids on Augsburg, Schweinfurt, Regensburg and Steyr, on March 2; on the Southern Russian Front: of Army Group A's situation, on the morning of April 5, stating that the 6th Army has been split; and of the encircled 1st Panzer Army attacking to break out westwards, on April 6; Naval Headlines; from the Portuguese minister in Budapest, on the bombing of Budapest, on April 3; from the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the ambassador in Moscow, noting the desire for progress in Japanese-Soviet relations, on April 2; and from the Turkish ambassador in Bucharest, that the evacuation of northern Roumania has become a rout, on April 3.
