Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This was submitted to the Prime Minister (PM), but not seen by him. This file includes the following reports on the Southern Russian Front: Army Group A's appreciation of the enemy on March 29, stating that the Soviet 2nd Ukrainian Front is aiming to smash the Army Group's northern flank, to block its retreat and to penetrate deep into Roumania; an Army Group A report, for April 3, describing the withdrawal of the 6th Army, and the German main defence line; a German (1st Panzer Army?) report for April 3; a German Naval liaison staff in Roumania report on the situation there for April 3-4; that the Germans intend to hold Odessa, on April 3; and that the 4th Air Fleet orders transport aircraft to Odessa for evacuation tasks, on April 5.
