A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This was submitted to the Prime Minister (PM), but not seen by him. This file includes the following reports on South Europe: that Allied attacks on the railways force the increased use of shipping, so that the German Navy expects 18000 tons of supplies to be carried on the west coast in April; and a further report on using sea instead of rail transport, mentioning 9000 tons in April (presumably on the east coast); on Hungary: a report from a Panzer division in the Budapest area, for March 26, noting friendly attitudes, and referring to the necessary settlement of the Jewish question; on South-east Europe: that the Germans are to forbid the Croatians to occupy Hungarian territory, on March 19; on the Southern Russian Front: that the chain of command of Army Group A is to have a new organisation after the subordination of the German 8th and Roumanian 4th Armies, from March 29; Naval Headlines, that these reports are to include Japanese naval activity in the future; from the Irish minister in Rome, that the Germans evacuate Rome, on March 28; and from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Berlin to all stations, propaganda regarding Churchill's speech, on March 27.
