A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: Mr Loxley's summary (see 6044 and 6046); on Southern Europe: that the Germans appreciated on March 18 that commando activity had revived in the Dodecanese and was likely to extend to all the Aegean islands, the Ionian Islands and Corfu; German troops were reported to have crossed into Hungary on March 19 to clear up the internal political situation there - no resistance was reported and the German troops were outside Budapest; that Army Group B, previously in northern Italy, had transferred to the Western Command; and the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) West reported on March 16 that he was losing the 21st Panzer Division; and on Finland: that a German Air Force (GAF) night-fighter squadron is to be based in the country.
