Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: that the 114th Division resubordinates from the 76th Corps to the 1st Parachute Corps, on March 19; on the land, rail and sea transport situation for Italy, on March 10; that elements of the Hermann Goering Division arrive in Italy from the west and elements of the 16th SS Panzer Grenadier Division leave Ljubljana for an unspecified destination, possibly Leghorn; and of a large-scale Allied commando raid on Solta Island off Split, on March 19, with the fate of the German garrison being unknown; and on the Russian Front: that Russian forces continue to force back the retreating German forces, on March 1, and that the Russians have crossed the Bug and Dnestr rivers.
