A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: the 76th Panzer Corps reports the success of German probable remotely-controlled tanks against Allied positions at the Anzio/Nettuno bridgehead, on March 15; that the Italian battleship the Cavour is to be fitted out in Trieste as a jointly manned Italian/German floating anti-aircraft battery, on March 2; that the German intelligence authorities are aware on March 17 that following a planned Allied air attack against a Yugoslav airfield at Banjaluka overnight on March 18/19 the area would be attacked by some 800 guerrillas; on the Russian Front: that bomber crew volunteers are sought by the German Air Force (GAF) HQ in Berlin to return to Germany for cross-training to fighter aircraft, on March 16; that the German Army is in general retreat on the Southern Front, with the 304th Infantry Division exhausted and re-grouping west of Kalinovka; and that the sea supply route from Constanta - Odessa is to take priority over shipping supplies to Crimea, from March 13.
