Description

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: that the Germans receive reports that guerrillas with Allied aid are to attack the Rab and Pag islands, north of Zara, on March 6; a 264th Infantry Division situation report for March 5; and that 24 Ju 88 aircraft depart an airfield near Milan for an airfield south of Wilhelmshaven, on March 6; the Japanese ambassador in Ankara calls for a meeting of the Japanese diplomatic representatives in Europe, on March 3; from the Japanese minister in Madrid, describing an interview with the Spanish Foreign Minister, on March 2; from the Spanish ambassador in Helsinki, regarding Germany and Soviet-Finnish negotiations, on March 3; from the Japanese ambassador in Berlin, a weekly report, on February 25; a BONIFACE report on German information on Turkish generals, for March 6; and a report on Poland, for February 29.
