Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: three reports on Divisional boundaries on the bridgehead, as at March 5; that the 2nd Air Fleet orders a bomber unit to prepare for a concentrated attack on the night of March 5 against shipping targets off the beachhead; of damage caused by Allied raids on San Benedetto, on March 4; and that San Stefano is still unable to accommodate a steamship requested for March 5; on South-east Europe: that an attack by guerrillas with the Allies north of Split is intensifying according to the 264th Infantry Division, on March 4; that the Admiral for the Aegean considers the clearing of Dodecanese islands, especially those close to Turkey, on March 2; and a German Air Force (GAF) appreciation of the U.K.-U.S. air offensive in the west between February 19 and 26, on March 2.
