A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following correspondence: from the Japanese minister in Madrid, describing Allied designs on Spain, on February 22; from the Bulgarian minister in Berlin, noting German pressure on Turkey, on February 23; a report on Southern Europe: a detailed return of the strength of the German Army formations in Italy as of February 1; Naval Headlines including the Far East; from the Argentine chargé d'affaires in the Vatican, concerning Monte Cassino abbey, on February 20; the Spanish Foreign Minister in Madrid reports a conversation with Sir Samuel Hoare, the British ambassador to Madrid, on February 22; from the Brazilian ambassador in London, detailing Churchill's speech on the London air raids, on February 23; the Turkish chargé in London suggests precautions in view of the air raids, on February 19; from the Turkish chargé in London, a report of the London air raids, on February 21; and foreign assessments on the morale in Germany, and the damage to Berlin caused by Allied air raids between mid-December and February 8.
