Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on South Europe: that the 715th Infantry Division requests air reconnaissance for further attacks on February 22; on the front line of the 4th Parachute Division, as of February 21; of the 29th Panzer Grenadier Division's front line and request for support, on February 21; on the 114th Jaeger Division's front line, as at February 21; of the 75th Corps being bombed, and reconnaissance of Gorgona Island being requested, on February 21; on divisional moves in the 51st Corps' area, on February 21; that naval operation NOZZLE against the Anzio bridgehead is set for the night of February 21-22; that operation NOZZLE is in doubt because of the weather; that a midget submarine torpedoes an Allied destroyer, on February 20-21; and from the 2nd Air Fleet, on a technical matter concerning signals equipment, on February 21; on South-east Europe: of the inadequacies of the defences of the Dodecanese, on February 19; on the Atlantic: that a German effort against an Allied convoy fails because of aircraft engine failures, on February 20; on the Southern Russian Front: of the need for additional artillery for the defence of Odessa, which is essential to the supplying of Crimea, on February 19; and on the Northern Russian Front: that replacements are urgently needed, on February 18.
