Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on South Europe: a 715th Division evening report, for February 17, noting considerable losses; and that a German U-boat claims the sinking of an Allied cruiser in the Gulf of Gaeta, on February 18; on South-east Europe: of German shipping on the Dalmatian coast, for February 11 and 17; and that the Germans appreciate the route from Split to Sibenik is barred by Allied motor torpedo boats, on February 16-17; on the Atlantic: that German U-boats and aircraft are to mount a major effort against an Allied convoy, on February 17; on the Southern Russian Front: Army Group A evening reports, for February 16 and 17; that the Germans expect an attack on Crimea on February 22; and of a Soviet attack and a German counter-attack on the approaches to Krivoi Rog, on February 17.
