Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on South Europe: that the German Air Force (GAF) are to support defensive battles of the 10th and 14th Armies on February 5; a 10th Army intermediate report for February 4; a 10th Army report for February 3, describing enemy attacks; and a 10th Army morning report, for February 4; from the Irish minister in Rome, on the defence of Rome on February 3; from the Japanese ambassador in Ankara, on Turkish preparations against the event of fighting in the Balkans, on February 1; from the Japanese ambassador in Berlin, detailing conversations with Hitler and Ribbentrop on Germany's war strategy, and Germany's greatly enhanced prospects, on January 30; and a heavy air raid on Berlin, with the Embassy being badly damaged, on January 31; from the Spanish Foreign Minister to the ambassador in Washington, a protest at repressive measures by the Allies to secure Spain's cooperation, on January 30; and a report from Stockholm on a conference of Japanese military attachés in Europe on Japanese relations with the Soviet Union, on February 2.
