A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on South Europe: of the Hermann Goering Division being under attack on a broad front at the Anzio bridgehead, on January 30; a 3rd Panzer Grenadier Division report, for January 30; the 10th Army's morning report, for January 30, noting enemy attacks being repelled, except for in the 44th Infantry Division's area; the 10th Army's day report for January 29, stating that the 29th Panzer Grenadier Division is in heavy fighting; of a German Air Force (GAF) unit moving to Villa Orba, and another unit transferring to Bergamo, on January 30; on the arrival of a GAF unit at Bergamo from Istres (France), on January 30; and of German minesweepers being sunk and damaged in Allied raids, on January 29 and 30; on Germany: that the Spanish military attaché's office was damaged in an air raid on Berlin on January 29; and that a congress of senior military officers is to be held in Posen, from January 24-27.
