Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: 10th Army reports for January 21 and 23; that the 114th Division, en route from Croatia to Istria, was attacked by guerrillas in the Fiume area and is unable to continue, on January 22; the German naval authorities at Piombino reported on January 24 that both the Mangona and Ilva steel works had been badly damaged; and of the results of Allied naval attacks against German shipping in the Gulf of Genoa, on January 24; and on the Russian Front: that on January 19 two German divisions in the area south of Leningrad intended to attempt to join together and force their way through to the south.
