Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: a 10th Army report, that the 94th Division is preparing to counter-attack and the 3rd Panzier Grenadier Division is moving to the front from the Rome area, on January 21; of the German reaction to Allied landings at Nettuno and Anzio, on January 22; that orders were issued to destroy the harbour at Civita Vecchia; of Allied air superiority over the Anzio beachhead; that no German Air Force (GAF) support is available from the Rome area to oppose the Anzio landings as the aircraft there are fully committed; that Hitler gives the order of priority on January 22 for German shipping in the Aegean; and of the Germans planning an army occupation of Berane airfield to stop Allied supplies getting to Tito's forces in Yugoslavia, on January 21.
